Pueblo Engagement

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Bobby and Crystal.  We started with some appetizers then headed to Pueblo City Park.  Typically the park has two ponds for fishing and feeding the ducks.  I say typically because the city had drained them…  Oh well.  We spent some time at the park dodging Frisbee golfers then headed Downtown for the reminder of the afternoon.

Let me tell you, these two know how to have some fun.  They were cracking my up the entire time.  I can’t wait for their wedding in April.  Here is a peek at their engagement session.

Thanks for showing me around town.  I’m looking forward to the wedding!

Inspiraa – Marketing Photographs Finished

Last weekend we finished up the remaining photographs for the amazing jewelry company Inspiraa.  They are making waves with their simple and fresh designs.

Inspiraa will be at the Denver Gift, Home, Jewelry & Resort Show – February 25–28, 2012 and are going to Las Vegas Convention Center between March 25 – 28, 2012.  Check their website for details.

The Inspiraa site has some very cool galleries featuring their jewelry and my photographs.

Turning the Flywheel

Jim Collins wrote about this concept of turning the flywheel.  Each little decision we make in our life leading toward our goal starts turning the heavy flywheel.  Each decision adds a little momentum.  The wheel is so heavy that can’t be sped up all at once but once it is going the momentum will help keep it moving.  That is the secret behind overnight success.  Start turning the wheel and years later you’re an overnight success.

I have been turning the photography flywheel for a couple years now.  Some momentum is really starting to build.

Some of the things that I have been doing to turn that flywheel…

  • Using Michael Hyatt’s life plan ebook.  You can get that book by going to his blog.  The majority of people let life happen to them and have no plan.  I heard someone say “Adults devise a plan and follow it, children do what feels good.
  • The Entreleadership podcast is something that is fairly new by the Dave Ramsey team.  Each one has some great nuggets of wisdom. Podcast #11 with Jim Collins reminded me of the flywheel concept I mentioned above.
  • I recently picked up the book “Think and Grow Rich” for $0.95.  What a deal.  The book seems to be the original secret.  I picked it up on the recommendation of Zach and Jody, some Nashville photographers with the right idea!  Here is one of the quotes. “Success comes to those who become success conscious.  Failure comes to those who indifferently allow themselves to become failure conscious.”

I mentioned before that the wheel is turning and those are some of the things that I am doing to keep the speed increasing.

“Where you will be in five years depends on the books you read and the people you meet.” – Dave Ramsey

He is still working

I made this photograph today while Mr. E was making some business calls.  I better watch out, I think he is gunning for my job.

This is the photograph I made of the little guy while he was at his desk job.

Insperra!

I had the pleasure of working with a great wholesale jewelry company right at the beginning of the year.  They have put together some amazing products.  See for yourself.

The details in the clasps and beading are classy and simple just like the company.  To take this photographs we used a simple light box with an umbrella flash above each piece.

Thanks so much for trusting me with the photographs for your website!

Wedding Sampler Pack

Eventually my goal is to be a full time wedding photographer.  I would be naïve to think that anyone can pick up a camera and shoot a wedding with poise and ability.  Getting to where I am now has certainly been a journey but this is not where it ends.  I would like to share a few of the original images from two weddings I was fortunate enough to be a part.  Enjoy.
